Scope & Eligibility Rejection
If an optional request is rejected during the initial 48-hour editorial review—due to lack of legitimate public-interest merit, doxxing intent, or bad faith—the contributor is eligible for a 100% refund (less network gas fees) or research credit.
Evidentiary Inconclusiveness
If exhaustive investigation reveals that public records do not support an allegation, Verdict documents the negative finding and evidentiary absence in the internal audit trail. Statutory registry lookup costs and expended investigative hours are non-refundable.
Factual Findings Dispute
Under no circumstances are refunds granted because a contributor is dissatisfied with the factual findings, evidentiary conclusions, or neutral tone of a published dossier. Verdict reports verifiable facts—it does not produce paid advocacy.
How Funded Investigations Disclose External Support
Whenever an investigation or entity dossier on Verdict is initiated or sustained via a funded research request, the published record carries a permanent, immutable third-party funding disclosure:
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to submit a research request to pay?
No. You can simply contribute funds to support VERDICT's ongoing open-source intelligence work without submitting any request, topic, name, or email. The research request step is entirely optional.
Can someone pay to remove an existing investigation?
No. Under no circumstances can anyone pay to suppress, alter, or delete a published dossier or documented public record. Records are updated solely through verified corrections submitted with primary statutory evidence.
Can I fund research anonymously?
Yes. You can choose to be attributed as "Anonymous to the public" or referenced only by your internal payment token (VR-FUND-XXXXXX). Crucially, under our Anti-Triangulation Standard, Verdict never publishes exact dollar amounts, payment timestamps, receiving addresses, or transaction hashes, preventing observers from cross-referencing public ledgers to unmask contributors.
What happens if no public evidence is found?
Verdict documents the negative finding and evidentiary absence in the internal audit trail. If an allegation lacks verifiable public documentation, Verdict will not publish uncorroborated accusations.
