What VERDICT Cannot Establish
A credible intelligence platform is defined as much by what it refuses to conclude as by what it publishes. Here are our hard negative boundaries.
1. Non-Adjudication & Legal Guilt
VERDICT is an investigative research repository, not a judicial court, tribunal, or statutory investigating authority.
2. Personal Intent & Psychological Motive
Automated research engines and open-source data can verify actions, dates, payments, and statements. They cannot peer into human consciousness.
VERDICT system rules forbid our research fleet from asserting intent, loyalty, secret motivation, or psychological state. We document that an individual attended a conference or registered an entity; we do not assert why they did so unless quoting an on-record statement.
3. Name Collisions & Identity Merging
In Indian public databases, thousands of citizens share identical combinations of first and last names.
A matching name in a corporate MCA director filing or court cause list never proves identity without corroborating identifiers:
- Director Identification Numbers (DIN) or Corporate Identification Numbers (CIN).
- Parentage, residential jurisdiction, and verified date of birth.
- Direct organizational and contextual alignment.
Where identifiers are missing, the candidate entity remains permanently marked as UNRESOLVED.
4. Network Proximity ≠ Personal Relationship
One of the most widespread abuses in amateur OSINT is the conflation of digital proximity with conspiracy.
5. Public Money Graphs ≠ Wallet Ownership
While blockchain transactions and public banking disclosures can illustrate asset flow, a graph of transactions between cryptographic addresses does not establish legal ownership.
Attributing an address to a human or political campaign requires independent statutory documentation (such as court disclosure orders, exchange compliance reports, or verified public ownership declarations). In the absence of attribution, VERDICT maps transaction flows without naming owners.
6. Bounded Absence: Why "Not Found" ≠ "Does Not Exist"
Information on the Indian web is severely fragmented. Millions of municipal records, older gazettes, and district court orders exist only on paper or behind offline administrative systems.
When VERDICT reports that no records were identified for an entity or claim, this is a bounded finding of our search corpus—not definitive proof of non-existence. We never declare an event "debunked" merely because search engines do not return an indexed copy.
7. Non-Public Facts & Private Communications
VERDICT does not possess access to private WhatsApp messages, wiretaps, sealed intelligence dossiers, or non-consensual personal files. We refuse to publish stolen personal credentials or unverified leaks.
If a public question hinges entirely on private material that has not been admitted into an official court proceeding or authenticated by professional journalism, the question remains classified as an UNRESOLVED EVIDENCE GAP.
